We have had to say goodbye to two great members of our family. 
Let them be Never forgotten.

Greg Coryea
Greg Coryea had twenty-four years’ experience as a New York State Peace Officer. He was a Weapons Training Officer, Chemical Agents, and DCJS General Topics Instructor for the New York State Department of Corrections.
Greg was hired by Blackhawk Training Academy in May 2010 as the Sr. Firearms Instructor. 

Greg had been a DCJS Certified Instructor since 2005. He had thousands of hours of experience in both the classroom and Firearm’s Training Range. His many years of experience, high level of professionalism, and no-nonsense approach to his students, makes him a truly valuable asset to those seeking expert training in the field of Security.

In addition to his duties and responsibilities at the Blackhawk, Greg currently held the following certifications:
DCJS – Certified General Topics Instructor
DCJS – Certified Firearm’s Instructor
DCJS- Chemical Agents Instructor
Utah Concealed Firearm’s Certified Instructor (Application Pending)

Greg was a wonderful member of our team and is greatly missed.


David R. Hawe

After a hard fought battle with cancer, David passed away January 3, 2015 at the age of 56. He was a retired Sgt from the Monroe County Sheriff Dept. and an asset to our team here at Blackhawk. It is with great saddness we said goodbye to David and we will cherish our memories of him. David is also lovingly remembered by his wife Karen, daughter Jessica and son-in-law Joe Surace; granddaughter Jessie Mae and grandson Paul David Surace; mother-in-law Barbara Farnsworth, Joe and Cheryl DeLuca, David and Sharon Appleton, and many other relatives and friends.
